Grand Rapids is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 197,800. The Grand Rapids-Wyoming Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) had a population of 776,742, while the Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland Combined Statistical Area (CSA) had a population of 1,323,095 as of the 2007 census estimate. It is the county seat of Kent County, Michigan. It is the second largest city in the state and the principal city in West Michigan.
